N.KY. HIGH SCHOOL HIGHLIGHTS

Mitchell, Lee spark Indians

The Cincinnati Enquirer

Holly Mitchell and Stephanie Lee came through again for the Holy Cross girls soccer team.

Lee and Mitchell each scored two goals and Sarah Cross another, giving the Indians a 5-0 victory over Campbell County.

“Stephanie now has six goals and Holly four,” coach Dave Reynolds said. “We were expecting them to be our one-two punch, and they've come through for us.”

BOYS SOCCER: Victory was a long time coming for Dixie Heights, but the Colonels ended the dry spell with a 2-1 victory over Holmes.

After falling behind 1-0 early in the game, the Colonels rallied behind Wade Fisher and Adam Rolfes. Goalie Brandon Mullins also played an important role, turning aside 18 shots.

        • Freshman goalie Matt Miller came up big with 19 saves as Villa Madonna downed Owen County 2-1 in a sudden-death shootout.

GIRLS GOLF: Missy Hite, Kristi Kenning and Jenny Brake shared medalist honors with 48s on the Blue Course at Neumann Golf Club, giving Notre Dame Academy a 195-220 victory over Seton.

BOYS GOLF: Pendleton County set a school record of 143 en route to a 143-180 victory over Bracken County at the Pendleton Country Club.

Danny Marsh was medalist with a 3-under-par 33. Andrew Spencer (36), Brad Cox (37) and Justin Feeback (37) were close behind.

        • Highlands remained undefeated at 4-0 with Kyle Jones firing a 1-over 37 on the front nine at Highlands Country Club in a 153-167 victory over Covington Catholic.
