N.KY. HIGH SCHOOL HIGHLIGHTS
Ryle, St.Henry win in soccer
The Cincinnati Enquirer
A lack of scoring hurt the Ryle girls soccer team during the first week of the season, but the Raiders since have found a way to put the ball in the net.
The Raiders exploded for five goals for the second consecutive game en route to a 5-2 victory Wednesday over Lexington Tates Creek at Ryle.
We're young and trying to find ourselves, Ryle coach Jim Demler said. We're getting better and we'll find out more after games against Henry Clay (Saturday) and Notre Dame (Monday).
Laurie Franks, Cara Tabeling, Sara Lonnemann and Sarah Brandner each scored in a shootout, giving St.Henry a 2-1 victory over Newport Central Catholic.
Crusaders goalie Lyndsay Seibert made a crucial save in the shootout and had four others during regulation.
