CLEARCREEK TWP. Trustees on Thursday appointed Gregory McDonald to replace Trustee Noel D. Poe, who died last month.
Mr. McDonald, who has filed to run in the Nov. 2 election for the remaining two years of Mr. Poe's term, was named after a short, closed-door meeting.
He took office immediately.
Judge Dallas Powers of Warren County Court was called to swear him in.
Besides Mr. McDonald, Everett Manning and Jerry Johnson had expressed interest in the appointment.
We have chosen a candidate we feel fills this spot well, Trustee Ed Wade said.
I'm looking for someone who is interested in local government and wants to be involved for a while.
Mr. Poe was a trustee for more than 25 years.
