Trucker freed after bail lowered in fatal wreck

A Kentucky truck driver will likely remain free on bond until his trial on charges of causing a wreck that killed four people on Interstate 275.
Clayton Kuehn was freed Wednesday after a judge reduced his bail from $400,000 to $200,000.
Mr. Kuehn's attorneys told Judge Melba Marsh that his trucking company was prepared to pay the 10 percent — or $20,000 — necessary to secure his release.
Mr. Kuehn, 40, of Cadiz, Ky., is charged with four counts of involuntary manslaughter.
Prosecutors say his truck slammed into a van carrying the four victims during the 5 p.m. rush hour on Aug. 5.
They say the wreck occurred because Mr. Kuehn failed to maintain an assured clear distance.
If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in prison.
