Lakota East to present play based on diary
The Cincinnati Enquirer
LIBERTY TOWNSHIP The Lakota East High School Theater Department will present The Diary of Anne Frank at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 5-6, in the school's Liberty Theater, 6840 Lakota Lane.
Born in 1929, Anne Frank was a Jewish teen-ager forced to go into hiding during the Holocaust. The play chronicles her life just before and during the 25 months she and her family spent hidden in an annex of rooms above her father's office in Amsterdam during World War II.
After being captured by the Nazis, Anne, her family and the others hiding with them were arrested and deported to Nazi concentration camps.
Nine months later, in 1945, Anne died of typhus at Bergen-Belsen. She had not yet turned 16.
Tickets for the performance are $8 and can be purchased at the door, in the school's main office or by phone, 759-8615, ext. 245.
