Man's body found in Devou Park

BY KRISTINA GOETZ
The Cincinnati Enquirer

COVINGTON — Covington police received an anonymous tip Wednesday about a dead body in Devou Park.

Officials say the call came in about 5:15 p.m. and indicated a body was in a small patch of trees off Park Drive near the concert bowl.

Capt. Gary Kiser, head of the detective bureau for the Covington Police Department, said officials found a white male in casual clothing with no identification. The man is between 20 and 50 years old.

Kenton County coroner David W. Suetholz will conduct an autopsy today.

“We suspect that the death occurred within 24 hours of the body being found,” Capt. Kiser said.

Police are treating the discovery as a homicide. They are also pulling the dispatch tape to review the voice of the person who made the call.

Police are asking the help of anyone who might have information about the man's death.

“They may have seen something suspicious or maybe a car was parked that didn't look right,” Capt. Kiser said.

If you have information, call the Covington Police Department detective bureau at 292-2234.
