Prisoner found dead in Middletown jail

        MIDDLETOWN — A man was found dead Saturday in the Middletown City Jail several hours after he was arrested.

        Thomas Earach, 45, of Middletown was arrested about 11 p.m. Friday by Middletown police on a charge of falsification and outstanding warrants from the Butler County and Montgomery County sheriffs. No further details about his arrest were available.

        He was found dead in his cell about 12:30 p.m. Police would not comment further about the circumstances of Mr. Earach's death. The Butler County coroner is investigating.
