FOREST PARK A Forest Park father was charged Wednesday with felonious assault in the death of his 2-month old son.
Police charged Christopher Heery, in his 30s, of the 11000 block of Passage Way, after his son, Ina, died Wednesday morning at Children's Hospital Medical Center.
On Saturday, a city life squad unit responded to Suburban Pediatrics on Northland Road, where they found an unconscious 2-month-old boy receiving emergency treatment, police said.
The infant, who was in the hospital's intensive care unit, died at 11:24 a.m. Wednesday.
The father was charged based on an investigation of the injuries to the infant. A police report said he shook and squeezed the child.
The investigation is continuing.
