Ryle (6-4) at Lou. Trinity (9-1)

Today's N.Ky. playoff matchup

        • WHEN: 7:30 p.m. today

        • WHERE: Trinity High School, 4011 Shelbyville Rd., Louisville

        • WHAT TO WATCH: It's new blood against blue blood. Ryle's neophyte program just barely reached the playoffs in its first season in Class AAAA; Louisville Trinity is the state's benchmark big-school program with 12 state championships.

        Ryle isn't rattled.

“We've been been big underdogs in three or four games,” Ryle coach Kyle Hockman said. “We feel like if we play up to our abilities, we've got a great shot.”

An upset isn't unthinkable. The Litkenhous computer ratings list Trinity fifth and Ryle eighth in AAAA. Ryle beat Covington Catholic and handed AAA power Franklin County its only loss, and it played tough against Lexington powers Henry Clay and Bryan Station — Litkenhous' top two AAAA teams.

Ryle senior WR Mike Setters (71 catches, 1,107 yards, 11 TDs) and sophomore RB Travis Grant (1,017 yards rushing) strike a nice balance.

        • PICK: Louisville Trinity
