UofL player hurt in elevator fall
A University of Louisville football player, in town for today's game against the University of Cincinnati Bearcats, was injured Friday night when an elevator fell about 10 feet at the team's hotel in Sharonville.
Ibn Green, a senior tight end, suffered a number of cuts in the accident at the Radisson Hotel Cincinnati on Chester Road. He was taken to University Hospital and was expected to be released later Friday night.
At about 6:30 p.m., Green was in the elevator with several other members of the team when it fell.
Green was the only one requiring medical treatment.
Team officials refused to comment Friday night. Staff of the 350-room hotel said its elevators had passed inspection within the past few weeks.
The accident is being investigated. Officials closed off the elevator after the accident.
Green, 23, of Louisville, is a major contributor to the Cardinal football team. The 6-foot, 2-inch, 225-pound tight end has played in all nine games this season, scoring eight touchdowns.
