Cyclones 3, Orlando 2


Finally over .500

The Cincinnati Enquirer

        ORLANDO, Fla. — The Cyclones moved above the .500 mark for the first time this season, following a 3-2 win over the Orlando Solar Bears on Thursday.

        Right wing Craig MacDonald's goal with less than 14 minutes remaining broke a 2-2 tie and helped Cincinnati improve to 7-6-2.

        The Solar Bears dropped to 7-4-1. Cincinnati plays Orlando at 7:30p.m. today.

        The victory also gave the Cyclones their first win in Orlando since Dec.12, 1997.

        The Cyclones have won three straight games for the first time this season and moved into a tie for fourth place (with Milwaukee) in the IHL's Eastern Conference.

        Cincinnati goaltender Mark Fitzpatrick stopped 29 shots and improved his goals-against average to 2.38, ninth-best in the IHL.

        Greg Koehler, Shane Willis, Craig MacDonald scored for the Cyclones.
