Xavier's Jeff Massey and Dayton's Ryan Perryman were among six players released by the Cincinnati Stuff on Friday as the team trims its roster to the league-limit of 12.
The Stuff also cut Pat Bradley (Arkansas), Daimon Beathea (Michigan State), Artemius McClary (Jacksonville) and Jayson Wells (Indiana State).
The Stuff signed 6-foot-2 guard Wayne Turner (Kentucky). Undrafted by the NBA, Turner had signed with the Celtics until he was released last week.
I'm happy to be back in Cincinnati playing with former teammates and with guys that I've played against in the past, Turner said.
The Stuff have until Wednesday to submit their final 12-man roster to the league.
Tremaine Fowlkes of Fresno State has been ruled inactive by the IBL. He will be allowed to practice with the team but is not counted
as part of the 12-man roster. The league is reviewing Fowlkes' playing status; he may have signed a contract with a team in a different league.
Allen Edwards, another former Wildcat, is on the roster despite missing most of training camp with a broken hand. The Stuff do not have an injured list, so Edwards will have to remain on the active roster to be on the team. Edwards is still at least 10 days away from being cleared to play.
The Stuff will have an exhibition game 7 tonight against the Trenton Stars at Mount St. Joseph's Harrington Center. Admission is free.
