UK's bowl fate still matter of speculation

The Associated Press

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Kentucky coaches and players must wait to hear their bowl destiny. The winner of Saturday's SEC Championship game between Florida and Alabama receives an automatic berth in the Bowl Championship Series, while 9-2 Tennessee is expected to receive a BCS at-large bid.

That would leave berths in the Florida Citrus, Cotton, Outback, Peach, Independence and Music City bowls for the six remaining bowl-eligible SEC teams, guaranteeing Kentucky (6-5) a postseason game.

If Tennessee does not get a BCS bid, Kentucky could be squeezed out.

So far, speculation has centered on the Wildcats playing in the Dec.29 Music City Bowl in Nashville or the Dec.30 Peach Bowl in Atlanta.

“The Music City's been courting us a lot. Really, I think that's a good place for our fans, close and everything,” UK coach Hal Mumme said.
