Mighty Ducks 7, Philadelphia 3




        PHILADELPHIA — Frank Banham and B.J. Young each had two goals, and Johan Davidsson contributed four assists, as the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks continued their ascent in the AHL Western Conference with a 7-3 victory over the Philadelphia Phantoms Friday night.

        The victory was the fifth straight on the road for the Ducks, setting a franchise record. They went four games over .500 for the first time in franchise history. Cincinnati is 8-2-3-1 in its last 14 games and owns the third best winning percentage in the Western Conference (.600).

        Philippe Audet, Shane Hnidy and Jeremy Stevenson also had goals for the Ducks, who ended a seven-game losing streak against Philadelphia that dated to Jan. 9, 1999. Prior to Fri day's win, Cincinnati had been winless at 0-11-1-0 all-time against the Phantoms at Philadelphia.

        Cincinnati rookie goalie Gregg Naumenko made 29 saves to record his eighth victory.

        Phantom Jean-Marc Pelletier, who entered the game with a 2.15 goals-against average, allowed four goals on 27 shots before being pulled.

        “This is a big win for our hockey club,” Ducks coach Moe Mantha said.
