City's gifts bring comfort and joy
Introduction to the Wish List
Thanks to Enquirer readers, the Wish List is now in its 14th year of fulfilling the needs of people throughout the Tristate.
During the past 13 years, readers have given $1,655,093. But you have done more than give money. You have offered friendship and shown the caring side of Greater Cincinnati.
The Wish List has provided such things as wheelchair ramps and furniture to special medical equipment and high-tech communications devices for those who are sight- or speech-impaired. But the Wish List also has responded to wishes that are difficult to place a price tag on:
A visually impaired preschooler whose musical gifts blossomed thanks to a new piano;
A Madisonville man who can stay in his home thanks to some much-needed repairs
A school that learned the gift of giving by reaching out to a disabled boy.
During the next two weeks, The Enquirer will bring you stories about people in need this holiday season. The money raised beyond what's needed to fill immediate wishes is used for similar ones throughout the year.
To contribute, print out the online coupon and mail it with your donation. If you have questions, call the United Way Help Line, 721-7900.
We hope this year's stories will inspire you to be as generous as you have been in the past.
