Balanced Mercy beats Notre Dame

Mercy's 10-2 run late in the second quarter paved the way for the Bobcats' 61-50 victory over Notre Dame Academy Tuesday in Park Hills, Ky.
Balanced scoring was another key for Mercy, No.2 in The Enquirer's girls basketball preseason poll. Melissa Clavier scored 13 points, one of four Bobcats in double figures.
In the fourth quarter, Mercy converted six free throws to hold off a late Panda rally. Mia Bradford paced Notre Dame, No.5 in the Kentucky poll, with 14.
