Brossart takes down No. 1 CovCath

        Bishop Brossart converted seven of 11 free throws in overtime, and David Enzweiller scored six of his 11 points in overtime for the Mustangs, who handed No.1 Covington Catholic its second loss, 66-63 Tuesday night.

        Jeff Clark made a layup as time expired to send the game into overtime.

        Chris Ryan scored 21 to lead Bishop Brossart. Brad Dietz paced Covington Catholic with 19.

        • Holy Cross 79, Fleming County 77 — A desperation 3-pointer by junior guard Ray Arlinghaus proved to be the winner with 1.6 seconds remaining on the clock.

        Sophomore Mike Egan led Holy Cross with 21 points, his career high, which included five 3-pointers.

        Senior guard T.J. McKee of Fleming County led all scorers with 24 points.

        • Ludlow 57, Beechwood 44 — Junior guard Adam Henry scored five of his game-high 23 points in the first quarter to help give the Panthers a lead they never relinquished. Henry added 10 points in the fourth quarter.

        Junior guard Josh Morris led the visiting Tigers with 13 points, including eight in the fourth quarter.

        The win was Ludlow's second in a row.

        • Simon Kenton 70, Newport Central Catholic 66 — Jordan Stowers sank a pair of free throws with three minutes remaining to give Simon Kenton the lead for good.

        Stowers added three more free throws in the final minute and was 7-of-9 from the line in the final quarter.

        Brandon Coppage paced the Pioneers with 18 points, and Stowers added 17. Ronny Dawn led all scored for NCC with 19.

        • Conner 65, Walton-Verona 55 — Jeremy Stephenson scored nine points in the fourth quarter as the Cougars fought off a late Bearcats run to preserve the victory.

        Coonner led throughout the game, with Jason Edwards scoring 12 points and pulling off 10 rebounds.

        The Bearcats were paced by Robbie Hullemeier's 22 points and Ron Buckler's 18 points and 12 rebounds.
