No snow, but cold enough
BY TANYA ALBERT
The Cincinnati Enquirer
It's still too soon to tell if Greater Cincinnati will have snow for Christmas. But one thing is clear: Last-minute shoppers will be fighting cold weather as well as crowds.
Lows overnight were expected to drop to 15 to 20 degrees. The high predicted for today: 20 to 25 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.
Cincinnati usually sees a low of 24 degrees on Dec. 21 And today's highs will be about half the usual 40 degrees.
To me it's a waste of cold weather when there's no snow on the ground, said Scott Hickman, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.
No snow is in sight for Cincinnati today or Wednesday, when the lows will be 5 to 10 degrees and the high will be 20 to 25.
Thursday has the best chance for snow before Christmas.
It doesn't look like a big deal at this point, Mr. Hickman said of a system out west right now. Maybe enough to get you in the spirit.
After a few days of frigid temperatures, it will start to warm up. The high on Friday is expected to be 25 to 30 degrees. On Christmas Day, highs are expected to be in the mid 30s.
