GE opens 9th on-call engine unit

        GE On Wing Support, the GE Engine Services unit that maintains technicians on call around the clock for engine repairs and maintenance, has launched a new operation at Los Angeles International Airport.

        The new operation, operating from Garrett Aviation Services' Total Aircraft Services Center at LAX, is the ninth opened by GE On Wing Support worldwide. On Wing Support services engines made by GE and competitors.

        Shares of General Electric, parent of GE Engine Services, closed Tuesday at $157.81 1/4up $4.39.
