Man charged in fire at apartment complex
The Cincinnati Enquirer
BATAVIA TWP. Clermont County investigators arrested a township man accused of setting his apartment building on fire Monday during a dispute with a girlfriend.
Dennis Davidson, 27, of the Alpine Apartments, is being held in the Clermont County jail in lieu of $255,000 bond.
He was charged Tuesday with aggravated arson in connection with the fire that caused $100,000 damage and left four families homeless.
According to Clermont County sheriff's investigators, Mr. Davidson had been arguing with his live-in girlfriend Sunday. They said he set fire to her belongings and the blaze eventually got out of control. Mr. Davidson has a history of run-ins with authorities, including a domestic-violence charge from summer, deputies said.
The Batavia Township apartment complex on Marbe Lane caught fire at about 12:25 a.m. Monday. No injuries were reported.
