Holy Cross upsets No. 1 CovCath

        Rob Feldman sank a 3-pointer with just more than one minute left to give Holy Cross a 55-54 lead over top-ranked Covington Catholic en route to a 56-54 victory Tuesday night.

        The Indians tightened their defense in the closing minute and held Covington Catholic scoreless.

        “We didn't want to let Steve Purdon or Brian McQuade beat us,” Holy Cross coach Dan Trame said. “They had a couple different looks, but nothing fell.”

        Covington Catholic led most of the game, but Holy Cross stormed back in the fourth quarter by hitting four 3-pointers. Feldman scored 10 in the fourth, including three 3-pointers.

        Robbie Flick added 12 points for Boone County, and Brad Stephenson and Jonathan Wigger each scored 10 points for the Bearcats.

        • Highlands 60, Fairfield 51 — Highlands' John Messmer made all five of his field goal attempts on his way to a game-high 19 points.

        Highlands shot 57 percent from the field in the game. Gino Guidugli added 18 for the Bluebirds, while Matt Barone had 12.

        Brett Pogozalski and Nick Graman had 14 points each for Fairfield, which shot just 38 percent, including 2-of-13 from 3-point range.
