IAMS ON GROCERY SHELVES SOON
        In a move that could one day make Iams pet foods as well known as Charmin toilet paper or Folgers coffee, Procter & Gamble Co. said Wednesday it will begin distributing the newly acquired dog and cat food brand in grocery chains and mass merchandiser outlets.

Home workplace plan dropped
        After a day and a half of unrelenting criticism that the family-friendly, traffic-reducing and flexible work hours offered by telecommuting would be quashed by federal regulations because of an arcane opinion letter, the Labor Department backtracked Wednesday.

Drug maker makes key hire
        Duramed Pharmaceuticals Inc. struggled unsuccessfully for years to get approval for a generic version of Wyeth-Ayerst's Premarin. Wednesday, the company said it hired a former Wyeth-Ayerst executive to help expand use of its brand-name entry in the estrogen market.

TRISTATE BUSINESS SUMMARY
        Kenwood-based LCA-Vision Inc. has announced the official launch of the National LASIK Network — a joint venture with Cole National Corp. that will make LCA's laser vision-correction services available nationwide through an insurance program.
