Walnut Hills beats Moeller with 4th-quarter run

        Walnut Hills rallied in the fourth quarter Saturday to beat Moeller 55-51.

        Walnut Hills went on a 14-5 run to start the fourth quarter and break a 38-38 tie. The Eagles made 9-of-12 free throws, including 6-of-6 for Eric Robinson, to hold off Moeller.

        Moeller took 14-4 lead after the first quarter, but Walnut Hills fought back to within five behind George Blair's 10 second-quarter points.

        • St. Xavier 61, Zanesville 50, — St. Xavier made 9-of-13 free throws in the fourth quarter to seal the victory over Zanesville, handing it its first home loss in three years.

        Steve Sollman made 5-of-6 free throws in the fourth quarter, and Steve Callahan made 2-of-2. Andy Larkin led the Bombers with 18 points.

        • Milford 41, Hamilton 39 — Neil Barraco made a 3-pointer with under a minute to play to seal the game. Barraco scored 11 of his 17 points in the fourth quarter.

        David King paced the Big Blue with 11 points. Hamilton missed a last-second shot that would have tied the game.

        • Loveland 49, Clermont Northeastern 47 — In a battle of two of the better Division II teams in the area, Loveland overcame a 7-point halftime deficit.

        Kevin Schappell and Clint Nagel combined for 12 points in the third quarter, when the Tigers got back into the game. Loveland then put the game away in the fourth behind 6-of-8 shooting from the foul line.

        Nagel finished with a career-high 19 points. Schappell added 16.

        The win was Loveland's eighth in a row.

        Andy Dunn scored 15 points and Mike Ferris led Colerain with 19 points.

        The Vikins led only 22-21 at halftime.

        Southall totaled 12 points for Princeton. Erik Daniels scored 16 points and Larry Brown chipped in with 15.
