        • TV picks: PBS' Culture Shock examines Mark Twain's Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Monet's “Olympia” and other art works deemed controversial in their time (9-11:30 p.m., Channels 48, 54, 16).

        TV Critic John Kiesewetter also notes that the Drew Carey Show repeats a show taped at the new Cleveland Browns' stadium last fall (9 p.m., Channels 9, 2).

        • Disc picks: Reissues from two local groups lead the week's new CD releases.

        • Over The Rhine is back on a major label, as Virgin/Back Porch releases the band's 1996 CD, Good Dog Bad Dog ($16.98 CD only).

        • The self-titled first album by 98` is being reissued by Motown (the quartet now records for Universal) as a special edition with a free, two-track bonus CD ($17.98 CD only).

        • Reunited R&B group Guy is back with III (UNI; $17.98 CD, $11.98 cassette).

        • Also on the R&B beat, D'Angelo gets his mojo working with Voodoo (Virgin; $17.98 CD and $11.98 cassette).

        • Van Morrison gets back to his pre-rock folk-blues roots with Skiffle Sessions — Live in Belfast 1998 (Virgin; $17.98 CD only).

        • The Clash is back in a big way with the reissuing of the punk/roots band's complete catalog. It's a bargain for anyone with a taste for visceral rock, says Enquirer Music Critic Larry Nager, with CDs priced at $13.98 list (no cassettes). There's also a new compilation, The Clash (the Singles) ($17.98 CD and $11.98 cassette), being released for the first time in the United States.

        • 24 hours out: In conjunction with the Cincinnati Museum Center's African culture events, John David Smith, noted historian of the American South, the Civil War and slavery, will give a free lecture, 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the museum's Reakirt Auditorium. 287-7000.

        • 48 hours out: Redfest 2000, the annual fan festival, starts 4-10 p.m. Friday at Albert B. Sabin Convention Center, downtown. Players from the 1990 World Series team will be on hand plus a long list of current players and coaches, including Mike Bell, Chris Sexton and Barry Larkin. $5-$7. 421-4510.
