        HOUSTON — Cincinnati Cyclones lost their second game in three days to the Houston Aeros, dropping a 3-0 decision at Compaq Center Friday night. The victory was Houston's fifth straight against Cincinnati (0-4-1) since last season.

        “We've played a bunch of games in a short time,” Cyclones coach Ron Smith said. “It will be nice to get everybody rested and healthy and go at it again next week.”

        The Cyclones were playing their sixth game in eight days, winning four. They played without four injured players.

        NOTE: Cyclones defenseman David Karpa was recalled by the parent club and, in Carolina's 4-3 overtime win over New Jersey, he assisted on the third Hurricanes score.
