Warmer air moving in
Snow will go as 40s arrive Thursday
BY JEFF CARLTON

Tristate students hoping for more school delays and cancellations shouldn't count on the weather for much help this week.
A warming trend that should push the temperature into the mid-40s by Thursday will melt what snow remains on the ground, an AccuWeather forecaster said Monday night.
Snow flurries expected early this morning won't add to accumulation totals, said Mark Tobin, an AccuWeather meteorologist. Today's high will be about 32 degrees.
All in all, a pretty typical day for this time of year, Mr. Tobin said.
Air flow patterns will shift later this week, bringing warmer air and higher temperatures from the southwest toward the Tristate, said Jim Lott, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service in Wilmington.
Mr. Tobin predicted highs of 38 degrees for Wednesday and 44 degrees for Thursday.
In what may be good news for area residents sick of snowstorms, Mr. Lott said the weather looks pretty boring for the next week or so.
Mr. Tobin said most of the area's snow will melt by Saturday, if not sooner.
For today, Georgetown Exempted Schools in Ohio canceled afternoon kindergarten classes and South Ripley Community Schools in Indiana canceled morning kindergarten classes and delayed all other classes by two hours.
With the roads clear and the weather warming, few schools delayed or canceled classes Monday. Campbell County Schools, the Felicity-Franklin Local School District and Little Miami Local Schools all operated under one-hour delays.
