Wyoming rallies past Sycamore

The Cincinnati Enquirer

        Wyoming rallied from a six-point halftime deficit to hand Sycamore a 48-38 setback Saturday in girls basketball action at Sycamore.

        Outplayed in the first half and trailing 24-18, the Cowboys outscored Sycamore 14-4 in the third quarter.

        Maria McCarthy led Wyoming with 14 points. Melissa Becker added 11 points for Wyoming, ranked No.3 in The Enquirer Division II-IV coaches poll. Sycamore is ranked No.4 in Division I coaches poll.

        Lindsey Austin paced Sycamore with 17 points.

        • Mason 62, Harrison 43 — Five Mason players scored in double figures with Jere' Issenmann having a team-high 15.

        The Comets broke the game in the second quarter then they outscored Harrison 15-7.

        Mason is ranked No.1 in the state's Division I poll by the Associated Press.

        Anderson led 22-21 at halftime before the Barons dominated the third quarter. Anderson could get no closer than four points in the final period.

        Anderson freshman Lauren Gruber scored 20 points and grabbed seven rebounds.

        Fox finished with a game- high 29 points and eclipsed the 1,000-point career plateau.

        Jump added 14 points. Aaliyah Muhammad paced Loveland with a game-high 31 points.

        Robertson finished with a game-high 20 points, while McIlwraith totaled 13. Sarah McHugh had a career-best 11 for the Stingers.

        Patricia Robinson scored nine points to lead the Vikings.

        Kelley Phillips, a sophomore center, finished with a game-high 17 points. Karen Schumaker, Crystal Davis and Kimi Smith scored 12 points apiece to lead Wilmington.
