The Ohio State game is the highlight of the 2000 Miami football schedule. The RedHawks and Buckeyes haven't met since 1911.
But beyond the Sept. 16 Buckeye game, the RedHawk schedule isn't as difficult as it's been in recent years.
Only two of the 11 opponents Marshall (13-0) and Akron (7-4) had winning records last year. The other nine went 30-70.
The RedHawks open Sept.2 at Vanderbilt. The other non-Mid-American Conference opponent is rival Cincinnati. The RedHawks have only four home games. But Miami has commitments from Iowa (2002), Northwestern (2006) and Kansas State (2008). This will guarantee us five home games each year (on the years the UC game is in Cincinnati), Athletic Director Joel Maturi said.
