Special to The Cincinnati Enquirer
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M Tremaine Fowlkes scored 32 points and Lenny Brown and Moo-Moo Blakney each had 16 as the Cincinnati Stuff snapped a four-game IBL road losing streak and defeated the New Mexico Slam 107-94 Tuesday night.
Cincinnati improved to 23-7 on the season, while New Mexico falls to 18-11. The loss was only New Mexico's fourth in 15 home games this season. The Stuff have now won three straight and five of their last six. Fowlkes finished the game with a team-high 10 rebounds, giving him 16 double-doubles for the season.
We played smart basketball tonight, we played good fundamental basketball and when we do that, we're tough to beat, Stuff coach Joby Wright said.
The game was the first of a three-game west coast road trip for Cincin nati, which will play in San Diego on Thursday and Las Vegas Sunday.
Brown, who played the game with a sprained left wrist suffered in Sunday's win at home, tossed in a pair of 3-pointers in the first quarter and hit two key buckets in the fourth quarter.
Cincinnati placed five players in double figures. The Stuff opened the third quarter with a 15-2 run sparked by a pair of baskets from Wayne Turner, Allen Edwards and Alex Sanders.
