Madeira clinches title tie

        The Madeira Mustangs clinched at least a tie for the Cincinnati Hills League championship with a 71-57 victory over the Mariemont Warriors at Madeira.

        Madeira's victory, coupled with Wyoming's loss to Indian Hill, lifted the Braves over Wyoming into sole possession of first place with one game remaining.

        Leading 48-43 with three minutes left, Jeff McConnaughey hit back-to-back 3-pointers to put the game out of reach. Robb Hern led Madeira with 19 points and eight rebounds.

        • Indian Hill 67, Wyoming 57 — The Braves sank 11-of-14 free throws in overtime to pull off the upset.

        Alan English converted 5-of-6 during the overtime and Charlie Hahl went 4-of-4.

        The loss could prove costly to Wyoming, knocking the Cowboys out of a first place tie with Indian Hill with one CHL game remaining.
