Man charged in shooting death

The Cincinnati Enquirer

A suspect was arrested Tuesday and charged in the shooting death last week of a 45-year-old Over-the-Rhine man on West Elder Street near Findlay Market.

Norman Sneed, 25, was charged with murder after officers arrested him inside his Riverside residence Tuesday afternoon, police said. The Cincinnati Police Division's homicide unit and the SWAT team arrested the suspect after serving a search warrant at the residence in the 5400 block of Hillside Avenue.

He is charged in the shooting death of Jerome Crutchfield, who was found lying on the sidewalk in the 200 block of West Elder Street at 11:23 p.m. Thursday. Mr. Crutchfield was admitted to University Hospital in critical condition and died at 2:06 p.m. Friday.

Anyone with information about the death is asked to contact the homicide unit at 352-3542 or Crime Stoppers at 352-3040. Callers may remain anonymous and may receive monetary compensation for the information provided.
