Folks bask in record warmth
75 Friday; 73 forecast today
BY JIM HANNAH

Throw the winter coat in the closet and pull out the picnic basket. The mercury hit a record-high 75 Friday and may set another record today.
Friday's high at 4 p.m. broke a record set in 1930, when the temperature reached 72. Today's forecast calls for a high of 73, which would tie the record.
The average high this time of year is 44 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
I'm out here to catch some sunshine, what little time I get to see it, said Mary Estepp, 36, of Evanston while sitting with her boyfriend on a bench in Eden Park. I'm getting ready to go back into work. I'm working a double shift today at the Maisonette.
They were just two of many across the Tristate who headed outdoors Friday to get a jump start on the weekend. People filled golf ranges, tennis courts and parks to get in shape for spring. In Eden Park people played Frisbee, couples cuddled on the grass, and men jogged shirtless.
Tori Lowry, 30, of Hyde Park took in the sun in Eden Park while enjoying a panoramic view of the Cincinnati skyline rising from a rain-swollen Ohio River.
I love this warm weather. I'm a summer person. I actually moved to New Orleans for a couple of years just to get away from this cold weather, the Cincinnati native said.
