Two girls in hospital after being hit by car
Two girls were injured Monday afternoon when they were struck by a car as they ran across Dale Road in Bond Hill.
Ashley Simmons, 7, was in critical condition late Monday at Children's Hospital Medical Center. Lakisha Walker, 8, was in serious condition. Both girls are from Bond Hill.
A vehicle driven by Titus T. Chatman, 22, of Pleasant Ridge, was westbound in the 1700 block of Dale Road when it struck the two girls, police said. The girls were not crossing in the marked crossway, police said. The accident occurred at 3:30 p.m.
