NKU men reach GLVC semis

EVANSVILLE, Ind. Junior center Zach Wieber scored a career-high 19 points Thursday as Northern Kentucky University defeated Indiana-Purdue/Fort Wayne 96-65 in the first round of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament at Roberts Stadium.
No.22 NKU (25-5) shot 61.3 percent from the field during the first half and built a 50-27 halftime lead.
Brenden Stowers (15 points) and Craig Sanders (13 points) both made a trio of 3-point shots in the first half to spark NKU. For the game, NKU hit 15 3-pointers.
Brian Lawhon and Craig Conley added 11 points apiece as NKU advanced to today's GLVC Tournament semifinals against either Southern Indiana or Bellarmine. The championship game is scheduled for 8p.m. Saturday.
