MASON The head of the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center gave a sneak preview Friday of the museum that will include the abolitionist history of Butler County.
There are a lot of mysteries to be uncovered in Butler County, said Ed Rigaud, President and CEO of the Freedom Center. There are a lot of stories here. We would be more than pleased to work with you to discover them.
Mr. Rigaud was keynote speaker during the annual dinner and awards ceremony of the Southeastern Butler County Chamber of Commerce (SEBC) at the Manor House Conference Center. The chamber represents businesses, organizations and individuals in Liberty and Union townships.
The Freedom Center has to involve all of us joining together to make it happen, he said.
The chamber also gave a number of awards.
The Dorothy and Art Roth Citizen of the Year Award went to Christine Matacic of Liberty Township.
