Cyclones 4, Utah 3

The Cincinnati Enquirer

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah — The Cincinnati Cyclones and Utah Grizzlies know a thing or two about playing close games and Friday night was no exception, with the Cyclones winning a 4-3 shootout at the E-Center.

For the third time in three meetings between the clubs this season, a shootout was necessary to determine the winner. For the third time, Cincinnati walked away a winner. This time, overcoming a two-goal first period deficit.

“That was a good win against one of the best teams in the IHL,” Cyclones coach Ron Smith said. “Anytime you fall behind Utah by two goals in their building you are asking for trouble. The guys were up to the challenge tonight.”
