Lyme leads local prep gymnasts

        Two local gymnasts had good showings in the the individual competition at the state high school gymnastics meet Saturday: Junior Nicole Lyme of Lakota West, the top area finisher, and freshman Chelsey Ericksen of Anderson.

        Lyme was the top local finisher in the vault (6th place), balance beam (5th) floor (8th), and all-around (4th). She finished third last year in the all-around.

        Ericksen finished fifth in the all-around, while topping all locals with a fifth place finish on the bars.

        Vault—1. Stranges (St. Francis DeSales) 9.45. Locals: 6. Lyme (Lakwest) 9.125, 18. Ericksen (And) 8.85, 21. Bentley (LakWesT) 8.8, 29. Scheeren (Turpin) 8.525.

        Bars—1. Ryals (Graftin Midview) 9.45. Locals: 5. Ericksen (And) 9.2, 6. Farr (Syc) 9.175, 9. Lyme (LakWest) 9.075, 20. Murray (And) 8.725, 25. Bentley (LakWest) 8.45.

        Beam—1. Stranges (St. Francis DeSales) 9.75. Locals: 5. Lyme (LakWest) 9.275, 9. Farr (Syc) 9.2, 16. Singh (Syc) 8.7.

        Floor—1. Ryals (Graftin Midview) 9.75. Locals: 8. Lyme (LakWest) 9.25, 15. Ericksen (And) 9.15, 20. Gierl (Tur) 9.025.
