Land swap puts kids in new school

HAMILTON TWP. — A land swap between the Kings and Little Miami schools, recently approved by the governing board of the Warren County Education Service Center, will allow neighborhood children to attend the new South Lebanon Elementary School when it opens.
The site of the new school is on 22 acres along Ohio 48, just outside of South Lebanon, and is part of the Hines-Griffin Development project. Part of the property, including the site of the new elementary school, lies in the Little Miami Schools; the other portion in the Kings Schools.
In exchange for transferring the 22 acres, valued at about $16 million, the Little Miami Schools will gain a similar amount of land in the development that is valued at about $19 million. A golf course and club house is planned for the site.
