UC students save teen from attacker

BY MARIE McCAIN
The Cincinnati Enquirer

Two University of Cincinnati students helped save a 13-year-old boy early Wednesday, after the teen was dragged into a Clifton building by an attacker.

The pair, Tiffany Bond and Glenn Walker, called police, then used a broomstick, a bottle, a rock and a garbage can lid in an attempt to get the man off the boy, officials said.

The incident occurred shortly before 8 a.m. when the victim was pulled into a hallway at 211 W. McMillan St. as he walked past the building.

The man accused of the attack, Robert Scott Lane, 26, of 209 W. McMillan St., ordered the boy to bare his genitals, according to the police report.

When the boy refused, Mr. Lane allegedly grabbed the boy's groin area and began to beat him.

Police say the students saw the attack and fought the man off the boy.

Neither Mr. Walker nor Ms. Bond could be reached for comment late Wednesday.

When police arrived, Mr. Lane charged them, they said.

Mr. Lane was taken to University Hospital and is being held in the psychiatric ward.

He was charged with gross sexual imposition, assault and resisting arrest.
