SYRACUSE, NY Ryan Hoople made 44 saves and Jay Legault and Alexandre Jacques each had a goal and an assist as the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks beat the Syracuse Crunch 5-3 Wednesday in the Onondaga County War Memorial.
Bob Wren, Marc Chouinard and Darryl Laplante also scored goals for the Ducks, who won their second game in a row and fourth in the last six.
Cincinnati is unbeaten in its last 11 games (9-0-2-0) against Syracuse dating back to April 10, 1998, including 3-0-1-0 this season.
Hoople allowed three goals on 26 shots through the first two periods, but stopped all 21 shots he faced in the third to improve his record to 9-5-1.

Reggie Savage, Pat Kavan agh and Artem Chubarov had goals for Syracuse, which is winless in its last 11 games (0-9-1-1). Crunch goaltender Corey Schwab had 34 saves in absorbing the loss.
The Ducks inched to within eight points of catching the Louisville Panthers for the fourth and final Mid-Atlantic Division playoff berth with Wednesdays win. They play the fourth game of a current eight-game, 14-day road trip Friday at Worcester.
