Stuff 103, Trenton 88

Turnover-ridden Trenton fell 111/2 games behind the Cincinnati Stuff in the IBL East Division and completed a winless winter in the Queen City by losing to the Stuff 103-88 before a crowd of 3,339 at Firstar Center on Saturday night.
The Stuff improved to 8-2 this season against the Shooting Stars and wrapped up their home schedule against Trenton with a 6-0 record. The two teams play two more times, both in New Jersey.
Roderick Moo Moo Blakney scored 19 points to lead five Stuff players in double figures. Lloyd Sweet Pea Daniels also scored 19 points, 17 in the first half and 15 on five 3-point shots.
Six different players scored during a 17-3 Stuff run that bridged the first and second quarters and left Cincinnati with a 42-30 lead. Cincinnati's half-court pressure forced three of Trenton's 16 first-half turnovers. The Stuff scored 25 points off Trenton turnovers in the first half.
We did a lot of that earlier in the year, but we kind of got away from it, Blakney said. Once we get out there swarming and running, we can make a lot of things happen. We think we can do a lot of that through the IBL. It gets you going. It gets your confidence level up because you usually get a lot of layups off of turnovers.
I thought, for most of the game, we played with a high level of intensity, coach Joby Wright said. (Trenton) just beat (West Division-leader) St. Louis in their last game, and I was pleased with the way our guys came out and set the tempo.
The Stuff led by 25 points, 83-58, after three quarters. Trenton fought back against the Cincinnati bench and cut the lead to eight points, 93-85, but Wright put the regulars back into the game to close it out.
It's getting late in the season, and I'm trying to spread the minutes around, and I was little disappointed that they allowed them to come back like that, Wright said.
