The Cincinnati Enquirer

COVINGTON — An IRS security guard was arrested Monday in a Covington homicide from last summer.

Gregory Saylor, 43, was charged with murder in the August stabbing of Roy Thomas “Tommy” Faulconer, 48, who was found dead in his Latonia apartment. Mr. Saylor had been a suspect from the start, when police found knives in his apartment, but investigators waited for the results of forensic tests before arresting him.

Witness reports dispute
“It's been an ongoing investigation,” said Lt. Col. Bill Dorsey, Covington police spokesman. “All the pieces finally fell into place.”

Mr. Saylor, also of Latonia, was arrested on the job Monday afternoon at the IRS office in Covington.

Another man told police Mr. Saylor had been fighting with Mr. Faulconer the day of the killing, according to court documents.

Arraignment today
Mr. Faulconer was a father and grandfather who worked as a mechanic.

Mr. Saylor was taken to the Kenton County Jail.

He was expected to be arraigned in Kenton District Court this morning.
