Schwegmann all-Kentucky again

LOUISVILLE, Ky. For the second straight year, Bishop Brossart's Katie Schwegmann and Assumption's Jenni Benningfield head the list of players named to the 2000 Associated Press all-state girls basketball teams.
Schwegmann, the only junior selected to the first team, averaged 22.6 points, 6.8 rebounds, 4.6 steals and 4.1 assists this season. She scored 723 points to break her own single-season scoring record and already has 2,037 career points.
Also on the first team are Warren Central's SeSe Helm, West Carter's Kandi Brown and Hart County's Leslie Logsdon.
Bryan Station's Jackie Williams, who led the Lady Defenders to a 29-1 record, was selected coach of the year by the state's sports writers and broadcasters.
Erica Hallman of Holmes was named third-team all-state.
