Painting portrays sunflower rebirth
The Tornado: One Year Later
It's called Some Fell on Fertile Ground.
Residents of Montgomery Woods, site of some of the most extensive tornado damage, commissioned an Indianapolis artist, Sally Roberts, to do a water color painting of a scene well-familiar to residents last summer: sunflowers growing everywhere.
An announcement in the makeshift neighborhood bulletin boards on Lakewater and Valleystream drives reads: For many of us, the sunflowers were a sign of renewal and hope. The Enquirer captured this in an article and picture on July 11.
The cost is $15. Neighbors can order through Shadowhill Way neighbor Michelle Budzek. The deadline is April 21.
