BY Sue Kiesewetter

MONROE — Current students at Lemon-Monroe High School (LMHS) who live outside the boundaries of the Monroe Local Schools will have top priority through an open enrollment process adopted by the school board Monday.

The policy was adopted 4-1 with board President Jamie Pierce dissenting.

Under the policy, current students can turn in open enrollment forms May 1-12.

Other applications can be turned in 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 6 and during school hours May 8-12.

Any leftover slots will be first come, first served.

The board also received a list of 11 applicants for the superintendent's position.

Among the applications were those from Larry Knapp, principal at Verity Middle School, Robert Leahy, principal at Franklin High School, and David Baker, assistant superintendent at Princeton Schools.
