        French composers: The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music Symphony Band, conducted by Terence Milligan, gives “L'Esprit de la France” concert showcasing contemporary French composers, 8 p.m. today, UC's Corbett Auditorium. Free. 556-4183.

STAYING IN
        • TV picks: Cosby closes four seasons on CBS without much fanfare as Hilton (Bill Cosby) shares his secrets for a successful marriage (8:30 p.m., Channels 12, 7).

        ăTV Critic John Kiesewetter also says the season finale — and possibly final episode — of The Hughleys airs at 8:30 p.m. today (Channels 9, 2).

BRAND-SPANKIN' NEW
        Plush pig: The second Flying Pig Marathon official pig, a plush version, is on sale online at www.flyingpigmarathon.com for $12, plus tax and shipping. Or, pick up one at the Kroger Health & Fitness Expo, May 12-13 at the Albert B. Sabin Convention Center, downtown. The pink pig has gold wings, an aviator's cap and a marathon finisher's medal on his chest.

HARRIED WITH CHILDREN
        Park puppets: Children of all ages are invited to celebrate the National Day of Puppetry 3:30-5:30 p.m. Saturday at Eden Park. Festivities will include a Parade of Puppets through the park and a puppet workshop at Seasongood Pavilion. 421-5707.

HOT TIX
        Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. today for Don Henley's June 19 concert at Riverbend. It's a pavilion-only show. $56 and $82. Opening act: TBA.

        Also on sale today, the 7 p.m. June 8 Volunteer Jam country-rock package with Hank Williams Jr., the Charlie Daniels Band and Edgar Winter. $27.50 pavilion, $17.50 lawn.

PLANNING AHEAD
        24 hours out: Rosenthal Next Generation Theatre Series at Playhouse in the Park features Theatre IV Artreach's production of The Emperor and the Nightingale, 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 and 2 p.m. Saturday. $3-$4.50. 421-3888.
