BLUE ASH A Blue Ash police officer was treated at Jewish Hospital after an assault by two suspects who had fled to Kenwood Towne Center Wednesday night in a stolen car, police said.
Crash in parking lot
Police gave the following account:
Officer Edward Charron attempted to stop a Chrysler Park Avenue that was traveling on Interstate 71 without a front license plate.
The driver fled and struck a traffic post in the mall parking lot before crashing. The driver and passenger fled into the Parisian store, where Officer Charron confronted them in an elevator.
The driver struggled with the officer, and the passenger, a juvenile, punched the officer several times before being caught at the mall by Madeira police.
The driver jumped two parking levels to the ground and escaped.
Felony charges
Both suspects face charges of felony fleeing and eluding, receiving stolen property, resisting arrest, and felony assault on a police officer.
