Tale inspires floral winner

        Delhi Flower and Garden Center's “Rabbit Tails and Tea Parties,” a reflection on Wonderland, took the top prize Wednesday at the Cincinnati Flower Show.

        The exhibit, in the show's main horticulture tent, earned the Royal Horticultural Society Silver Gilt Flora Medal.

        The flower show is expected to attract nearly 50,000 visitors to Ault Park in Mount Lookout before it closes 6 p.m. Sunday.

        Bole Memorial Gold Medal: “Exotica Conservatory” by Elmore Orchids.

        Bole Memorial Silver Medal: “Hosta” by Thomas Gardens.

        ãChicago Horticultural Society Flower Show Medal: “Low Allergen Garden” by Botanics.

        ãMayor's Award in Amateur Category: “The Edible Playground” by Cincinnati State Technical & Community College.

        ãGovernor's Award in the Professional Category: “Take Me Out to Cinergy Field” by the Rosie Reds.

        ãCincinnati Horticultural Society Awards:

        Amateur: “The River at the Bridge of Tois Santets” by Martha Ragland and Sydney Anning.

        Professional: “Alzheimer: Rememberance Therapy Garden” by Beckwith Chapman Associates.

        ãThe Pennsylvania Horticultural Society Distinguished Garden Award: “The Flow of Time” by Egbers Land Design.

        ãJanet Meakin Poor Award: “What's Hot and What's Not” by Midwest Landscape Network.

        ãCountry Living Gardener Award: “Fourteen Gatehouse Road” by Abbotswood/Carr & Co.

        ãCincinnati Park Department Award: “An Urban Prairie Garden” by Urban Thickets.

        ãThe Cincinnati Enquirer Award: “After the Hunt” by F. Allen Duhe and Kathleen McClain.

        ãWKRC-12 Crystal Star Award (best container garden): Amy Montgomery of H.J. Benken Florist and Greenhouse.

        ã1999 FTD Award: “Botanical Emergence” by Ms. Montgomery. ãFrances Jones Poetker Award: “Yea Baby” by Susan Brown of Eastgate Flowers & Gifts.

        ãIrine Leninger Perpetual Award: “Heaven's Gate” by Gary S. Cook of H.J. Benken Florist and Greenhouse.

        ãWaterford Wedgwood USA Awards:

        Dramatic Table Settings: Mary Krombholz.

        At Large: Anne Geddes Pavilion.
