Every day through Oct. 31, the Enquirer is spotlighting a pig from the Big Pig Gig Public Art Project, which begins May 14 in downtown Cincinnati, Covington and Newport. Today here's a look at:         Michael Ham-gelo

Artist: Sycamore Junior High eighth-grade students, Carole Ritchie, art teacher. Design by student Andrew Wehling.

        Sponsor: Montgomery Inn

This pig's pen: Along the route of Flying Pig Marathon, specific location TBA.

You were inspired by: Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel.

You want people to look at this pig and think: “We used the scene on the Sistine Chapel ceiling where God and Adam are touching fingers, except we have two pigs touching fingers,” Ms. Ritchie says.

Completing the project took: Three weeks.

        Swine over matter: Acrylics.

Your high on the hog was: “The high will be seeing the pig out on the streets during the Big Pig Gig, and especially being invited to have it out for the Flying Pig Marathon,” Ms. Ritchie says.

Pig peeve: “That we could only afford to do one pig. We have another great design and we're hoping to find a sponsor for it.”

Best pig tale: “I saw the cow project that Zurich, Switzerland, did and told the class about it. Then one of my students went to Chicago and saw those cows and brought back a book about them. So we were ready to do something like this long before the Big Pig Gig was announced. Our school loves to do projects out in the community,” Ms. Ritchie says.
