        • TV critic John Kiesewetter says Whoopi Goldberg hosts Here's to You, Charlie Brown: 50 Great Years!, a retrospective planned months before Charles Schulz's death (8 p.m., Channels 12, 7).

        Disc picks: They're baaack! Hanson, the boy band that started the tsunami of adolescent pop stars, returns this week with This Time Around (Island; $17.98 CD, $11.98 cassette).

        • Music critic Larry Nager says progressive blues lovers can get an advance taste of Pepsi Jammin' On Main with the fine new CD by the North Mississippi Allstars, Shake Hands With Shorty (Tone Cool; $17.98 CD only). The band plays Friday.

        • Mission Impossible 2 (Hollywood; $18.98 CD; $12.98 cassette) is the first big soundtrack of the summer, featuring Metallica's new “I Disappear” and tracks by Limp Bizkit, Tori Amos and Foo Fighters, featuring Queen's Brian May on guitar.

        • The late singer/songwriter Jeff Buckley is remembered on Mystery White Boy (Columbia; $17.98 CD, $11.98 cassette).

Planning ahead
